Command Line Parameters

Here is the full list of command line parameters supported by Owlet. First of all you need to specify the main command line switch defining what you want Owlet to do, here are the options:

  • –jobs - run job manager;
  • –render - tells Owlet that it needs to render scene in batch mode;
  • –convert - tells Owlet to convert 3D model to Owlet scene file;
  • –thumbnail - tells Owlet to render thumbnail for specified material.

For –render mode you can also specify these extra parameters:

  • –width=N - sets the width of rendered image;
  • –height=N - sets the height of rendered image;
  • –output=filename.ext - sets the output image file name;
  • –max-intensity=N - configures maximum pixel brightness, see here for more details;
  • –photon-scale=N - lets you specify the photon scale, see here for more details;
  • –passes=N - tells Owlet to render image in N passes;
  • –seconds=N - tells Owlet to render image for N seconds;
  • –algorithm=<VPT|UPBP> - lets you choose the algorithm used by Owlet; VPT means “render caustics” is off in rendering settings window, UPBP means “render caustics” is on;
  • –tile=left,right,width,height - specify a tile to render;

See the command line rendering page for more details on using them.
